Over a hundred Citizens participated in a Design Charrette.
Working in groups of 8 to 10 they drew their aspirations for the future of their two Towns.
Each group choose a spokesman who presented their plan (there were 11 tables in all).
Resulting Plan for Miami Shores Main Street. Street trees, wider sidewalks, on street parallel parking.
The Team studied the existing lot structure against reasonable (and unreasonable) parking requirements. Conclusion: there is more than adequate parking for a healthy Mixed-Use Main Street.
Building Placement Standards: careful and precise controls on Building Form and broad parameters for building uses combine to shape clear Public Space (good Streets and Squares).
